About the Tentanar
BASIC FACTS:
The Tentanar is a very endangered and rare species, and is best described as a medium sized narwhal, but instead of a hornlike tooth coming out of its upper lip, there lies a single tentacle. This was made possible by a male narwhal mating with a female octopus, and creating a whole new species, hereby known, as the mighty Tentanar.

HABITAT:
Tentanars are very active creatures of the sea. They live year round in very tropical places, and prefer saltwater, human inhabitant islands near the equator. Unlike their Monodon Monoceros relatives, they cannot survive in weather even only as cool as 50ºF. Sadly, as more and more people begin to explore the world and discover new island, the Tentanars are forced to go and find new homes.

PREDATORS AND PREY:
The most common enemy known to Tentanar is the starfish. They will suction to their bodies at every chance, and the delicate skin will slowly begin to infect and decay. Fortunately though, having their octopi relations, they are able to camouflage into their surroundings. Other enemies inlude great white sharks, and giant squid. When not frolicking amongst themselves, Tentanars spend their lives feasting on small shellfish and krill, by either prying open the shells with their main tentacle, or herding fish into each others mouths with it.

PHYSICAL STUFF:
Tentanars are known without a doubt for their long, agile tentacle that grows out of their upper lip, (known as the canine tentacle), greatly resembling that of an octopus. This tentacle can be almost any color, and most likely to be a mix of their parents'. Also like common octopi, their skin and blubber contains certain substances necessary to camouflage abilities. They also are some of earths most athletic creatures. And, most importantly, the Tentanar is known for its amazing birth, being half Mammal, and half Cepholopod, there creating an entirely new species that the few scientists in the world that study this have not even come up with a name for this remarkable phenomenon.

THEIR LIFE:
When a baby Tentanar calf is born their skin is not yet fully developed, and is most commonly a peachy pigment, although there has been only one charted occasion on which a Tentanar calf came out of his mothers womb bright blue. That Tentanar years later became a highly respected citizen of that pod, and was considered to be "the calf from the heavens", or as his pod mates called him so. Tentanars begin to find mates at around the age of 7. Unlike practically every other creature known to man, (or at least me, i really have no idea, but i have put a great deal of time into studying this matter), the females are the ones who try to impress the males and fight over them with competing females. The way this is most commonly done, is by the two females to do what many call, 'the wresacle', in witch two or three females squeeze each others canine tentacle REALLY hard, until they stop squeezing theirs. When a female has found her mate, they will stick together and keep having calves together for life, having only about 1 at a time, unless there are twins. Tentanars usually have a lifespan of about 30-40 human years, just slightly less than their narwhal ancestors, yet more than most octopi. As they near their ends, they begin to lose their camouflage ability until it is at almost nothing, and their single tentacle begins to sag, and lose color into a dull gray. Then they die.... After that, they become magical spirits, and they will haunt people they don't like.
